I love this photo ! I fell in love with it at the moment, that I did it… It was a hot summer afternoon. The heat was unbearable, and my walk in Brescia was to its end. The sun tired me so much that the stairs up the car looked like ascent to Everest. I walked through via Gabriele Rosa towards the castle, when I saw a shortcut to my right, steep steps up. Vicolo Sant’Urbano… this is the name of this small street. Street is not the exact definition, it’s a staircase… Of course at that moment I had no idea what is the name of the street, but I checked it. So now I can introduce it to you. Then I thought a little about whether to go from there, but I had a presentiment that I had to turn… The sun was crushing me… the lack of water slowly killed me… I felt exhausted…
Beautiful view of Brescia …
In the middle of the street I turned back and then I saw the perfect view… Few colors and greenery along the fences, several roofs and the dome of Santa Maria Assunta cathedral… I knew that I was at the level of the roofs of some of the buildings, but I didn’t expect to reveal such a chance of shot… I waited several Asiatic tourists to hide behind the corner and it happened… I forgot about the thirst and tiredness, I was completely satisfied with this shot! The light and the reticence of the alley managed to create a slight mystery of the image… Northern Italy has never had the shine of Tuscany… but in such situation you can see the charm and magnetism of this country… The magic of the small streets and unexpected views make me to fall in love with Italy again and again…
