Passo del Tonale is probably one of Italy’s most picturesque road trips! It crosses the Italian Alps in the northern part of the country and connects the Lombardy and Trentino areas. It is a great feeling to cross the mountain at 1883 m altitude! I had traveled from Varenna to Trento and the passage was one of my most exciting journeys. The real ascent begins after Tresenda, and for a short time we climb very high… Multitude turns and stunning views! But… as always happens in the mountains, you can’t control the weather… It hit such a rain that I could not see what happened more than a meter in front of the car… Quite exciting! The transition itself passes through different towns, this area is among the most developed parts of winter resorts in Italy. But summer is calm and you can feel the majesty of the mountain… And the rain in the meantime stopped… And somewhere after the Ponte di Legno, sunbeams came out of the rainy clouds… And the lift was just there… as if leading to the unknown, to a mystical place… Indescribable view… So I was able to make one of my favorite photos… The right place is a lay-by from the road with coordinates 46.252739, 10.535581… And as it sings in the anthem of my favorite football team: „At the end of a storm… There’s a golden sky!“. Remains the memory from an unforgettable transition, chilling summer storm, an exciting adventure and the lesson of fate that after every storm, after every difficulty, after every obstacle… there is always a golden sky…
