The Iskar defile is one of the most beautiful and pictorial. It offers wonderful views and this one I found by chance. I traveled from Vratsa to Sofia and it got dark. A bit after Lyutibrod , just on the curve before the Cherepish monastery, a great view was revealed. We stopped the car… to the right of the road there is a possibility to stop, but you have to be careful because it’s not so wide… The exact coordinates of that place are 43.096088, 23.623248.
The beautiful turn of Iskar …
It was the first week of November and the vegetation on the slope was not very overgrowth, that allowed to reveal even more beautiful views. The rock on the other riverside was cut in the river, which twisted gracefully around it. Dance of the nature! I was trying to make a great photo, I was looking for my place, but it not turned out… I wanted to go down the slope, but the distance from the road was long and if I jumped, it was not known if I could climb it back…This place deserved to be photographed from the perfect position…
Searching for the best shot …
I started a little to disappoint myself and searching for a solution even more determined… Then I saw a niche on the other side of the road… there was a hole under the road, which went up the slope. I did not even think about it! I jumped down the road and was already crossing the hole. Its height was with human size… at the beginning… Then it gradually dropped and I had to bend down to pass through it… at the exit was the same. I came out on the perfect place! Little climbing among the bushes, struggle with the branches and my position was found! Desired photos were taken! On my way back I was so enthusiastic about the success that I forgot about changing the height in the hole and followed a powerful hit on my head with the cold surface… A cracked head at the expense of a few beautiful shots… it was worth it!
