Sofia is a big city and keeps many secrets! It’s time to tell you about some small places that are usually under our nose, but we don’t notice them… We are often so hurried, conceived or staring at our phones that we forget to look at the world around us… And there are so many things that can make us to smile, to be cheerful, to forget about problems and worries… I have gathered several places that diversify the dull daily round! They give a different vision to the world around us. They are distinguished from the uniform grayness. And the more you look, the more you will find it. I present Part I of secret places in Sofia. I also have part II… I’m also looking for part III… And I’m sure there will be Part IV…

The water tower in Lozenets

Located on the corner between Galichitsa Str. and Plachkovitsa Str. In quarter Lozenets, upper Lozenets. It was built in 1929 and is now used as a gallery of various artists. The tower is like being taken out of fairy tales… The green is everywhere around it…

The old “Volga”

This time machine is located at the Journalist square in Lozenets, just behind the stop of the tram on the Tsanko Tserkovski street… If I tell you that I have passed it over 300 times before I decide to shoot it… And it sits there and smiles at every passer-by…

Trabant monument

The non-standard sculpture is located in the Royal Garden, behind the National Art Gallery. It is definitely something that can make you smile!

The house of Sirak Skitnik

Located on “Borova gora” 28, again in Lozenets quarter. The house of the writer and artist – Panayot Hristov, is an architectural jewel in the capital of Bulgaria… Shrunk among other buildings, this house has an incredible radiance…

The Little Prince of Exupéry

The Little Prince is in Sofia! This is definitely one of my favorite secret things in the city… It is located in the yard of the 6th Graf Ignatiev School in the center. One drawing is in the yard of the school, and the other is outside. I can stay for hours and watch the love between the Little Prince and his rose…
