Залез над МантуаIt was late afternoon during the summer of 2016. The sun was going down, and I had just arrived in Mantua. I didn’t have enough time before the sunset, but I wanted to see so many places. I headed to some of the attractions in the town, which of course were closed… I wanted to take a picture of Palazzo del Te in the sunset and to combine that with my passion for attending different stadiums. Fortunately they were both in the same direction. However, they were 3 km away from the place where I was. I didn’t have any time to waste.

Random sunset in Mantua …

I confidently walked down the main boulevard  “Lungolago Gonzaga” and then turned right towards Via Pomponazzo. I was looking so confident as though I knew where I was going… But the truth is that I was following my intuition, because the battery of my phone had run out long ago… I reached a small bridge above some canal… Via Trieste was starting from there. I walked past the bridge but when I was just few steps away from it, I came back… It was unique! Just an ordinary canal, and houses’ paint was peeling and falling… But the clouds were making their way above the shining sun and were reflecting in the water below in an incredible way. The sun, on the other side, was spreading its rays and it looked like the collapsing old houses were coming back to life… I fell in love with that view… I could stay there for hours. I took my camera out and I was sure that this was going to be one of my best photos, I just could feel this. I had seen a lot of beautiful places, amazing views and famous  sights, but I had never felt such a thrill… Unfortunately… I had to keep walking…
