Let’s meet!
I’m glad that someone has reached this page, where the words from the articles acquire a real name and figure! My name is Atanas, a graduate of Bachelor’s degree in “Marketing” and Master’s degree in “Sales Management and Merchandising“, who loves to travel, tell stories, and takes photos. And if the first two hobbies are in my blood, due to the fact that I am the child of philosophy and geography teachers, then photography captivated me from the first time I touched a camera… then still with tape!
If you’re now expecting to read a dramatic story about how I gave up my standard job in exchange for constant wandering… I will disappoint you! I have been working in the field of marketing and advertising for over 12 years, as an account manager in one of the largest advertising agencies in Bulgaria. Even though I have organized hundreds of campaigns and events, serving some of the most recognizable brands on the market, I still have a hard time explaining to people exactly what I do…

How was the blog born?
In 2017 I decided to build my own virtual space where I could share photos from my travels, and thus The Traveler was born! Writing has always been a passion of mine, which led me to graduate from university with an additional major in Journalism. This helped me a lot to quickly change the concept of the site into a blog, where text could be added to the photos and the articles could take on a finished look. And because planning a trip in advance involves searching for useful information from various sources, my idea was to extract and structure in one place everything I found most interesting. Of course, adding personal impressions and advice!
But… there are three of us now!
While at first I was still traveling alone, shortly after that there were two of us – my soulmate Ivelina appeared in my life. Since 2022, there have been three of us on most of our trips, accompanied by little Elitsa! Thus, the preliminary plans became much more detailed, and the destinations were adapted to the interests of the three of us. But… the work of creating the blog articles still falls solely on me…
And yet, while I juggle carrying various things (luggage, a tired child, a scooter, a camera, and whatnot), keeping track of the designated places to visit, and taking photos for the website, Ivelina makes sure we also have some family photos from our travels. Most often they are in a ratio of 35% to the child, 30% to the two of them, 30% to her, 4% to the three of us, and 1% to me and the child, where I look like I’m crushed by life…

What will you find on the site?
Over time, the blog evolves, I change my view on some of the things and how they should be presented, but I absolutely always try to approach it with the same seriousness and attitude as I do with the demanding clients in my professional experience. Each article is completely author’s (text and photos) and in it I only talk about our personal impressions and experiences, trying to give practical advice and be positive towards each place we visit.
I understand the dynamic processes and that most people no longer read, but I will not compromise with the material and texts and will continue to be as detailed as possible in my descriptions. The goal of the articles has never been mass liking or gaining popularity, but solely to be useful to those who want to find detailed information, read something interesting, or experience a place in my own way. Then to create their own memories and adventures, because we all travel differently and we need to find what satisfies us and makes us happy!
How can you support us?
The truth is that balancing work, family, and blogging is a very difficult and demanding process, which is why I often describe our travels with a certain amount of delay… But this is how I manage to relive them! And my biggest motivation to continue doing so is the results of visits to the site, for which I sincerely thank every single reader! In the articles you will find affiliate links to Booking.com, Autoeurope.eu, Trainline.com, etc. By using one of them to book a service (an overnight stay, a rental car, a train ticket, etc.), your final price to the respective partner doesn’t change, but we receive a small commission for this. On the site you will not find links to products and services that we have not used personally!
If through the site, articles and photos we manage to inspire you, be useful to you or you simply like what we do, you can support us by ordering a virtual coffee here

Work with us!
With years of experience in marketing and advertising and using our strongest assets, captivating text and inspiring photographs, we can recreate a destination, experience or product in the best possible way! With well-developed social networks and over 11 000 monthly users on the site, we guarantee reaching a real audience of travel enthusiasts.
But building a partnership is a special and responsible task, and we wouldn’t embark on it if the product or service wasn’t in the blogging realm. And also if we don’t have our own personal impressions. We are open to opportunities for collaboration in many aspects of tourism, travel and photography, as well as to any ideas and suggestions. If you are interested in working together, have a specific proposal or an idea in mind, feel free to contact us at office@thetraveler.bg or via the contact form below, so we can discuss and develop it into a possible future collaboration!
