This photo is about the sea, the people and something else… It’s not from the Maldives… It’s not from Thailand… Not from some expensive and famous resort… It’s not even from the summer… Actually… I don’t even like the sea during the summer… I love it during the spring, before it became attractive enough for the tourists and especially the autumn… then everyone left and abandoned it… And then, the sea blossoms and shows us its biggest beauties…Then, autumn, you can go barefoot the cold sand and speculate… on everything… And listening to the melody of love between the waves and the seaside… I love it! It is the only one, the loved sound… and all around it is only silence… No matter how much I travel around the world and live in different places, my home is the city by the sea… So, the photo is from Chernomorets… from ”Gradina”… where my home is…
The photo is one of my first… I love it! And it revive even more before me, after reading the following lines of unpublished book by my friend Ilian Velikov:
“- Do you know what is the difference between visiting the sea during the summer and the autumn?
– No… I never even thought about it…
– The Summer… then it’s like a duty… All people are there, regardless of their age and gender. They walk there for many different reasons… to change the color of their skin… to cool themselves in the cold water… to enjoy the many undressed bodies… go to work or to find the partner of their lives… or even just to find their sexual object for the evening… They walk and stand on the beach all day… eat, drink, listen music, exercise, play cards and more, and more… they go there with purpose… whether to darken or just to have fun… but they always know why they are there…
– Well… you’re right… why to go in the autumn? Then it’s cold, there are almost no people, the bars are closed… why would anyone ever visit the sea in autumn?
– Because of the romance… Autumn is a very special season… no one wants September to come… everyone suffers from the past summer… from the endless parties till dawn… from the lost love… there is a melancholy intertwining with sadness… And the reality is very different… Autumn is the season of change… of the new beginning… of the ideas… of the romance… as if the whole world becomes yellow- brown… somehow more despondent… You’re walking on the sand with shoes, wrapped in your jacket… looking at the desert sea… memories, thoughts and ideas rush in your head… at every moment can begin to rain… to become cold… to blow… but whatever happens to you… you sit on the sand… watch the setting sun… the crowd of people is gone… the music too… even the seagulls don’t bother you… there are you alone, the sand and the sea… you communicate with each other… you tell your story… you merge with the nature… and if you are lucky… and you look aside… It will be there… and will do the same thing like you… and then you will know… Autumn… this is the season of the new beginning… a little despondent… a little more romantic… and a lot… very special…“
